I cut the balloon using a snippet of dark blue card and backed the envelope part of the balloon with a lighter blue with some Stormy Sky ink over it, and I also added a little Mowed Lawn to try and harmonise the colours with the background.
I assembled the card backing the main panel with another snippet of dark blue card and die cut a sentiment from another snippet of the dark blue, which I backed with the Stick It adhesive.
After finishing the card I did wonder if the balloon looked a bit too dark for the quite light coloured background, but decided to use it as I know sometimes I am rather picky and overly fussy...lol. Quite often the finished result in reality doesn't match up to the picture in my head but using inks for colouring is not an exact science and I suppose the beauty of this method of colouring is that every piece of work is different.
Thank you for visiting today, and thank you for all the interest you show in my blog which is greatly appreciated.

Such a gorgeous card. Love the background blending and love how you've tilted the sentiment to mimic the titled balloon, which adds fabulous movement to the card. Chuckled at how 'picky' you are...I think it's definitely a crafters thing...our own worst critics. This card is beautiful and I think the tones are gorgeous, especially the dark balloon against the softer background. Thank you for your kind comments on my blog, most appreciated x
What a great job you did Pat my friend! It's a work of art! Very clever sponging and ad-libbing with those trees and I LOVE those hills! Genius! Have a wonderful weekend! Hazel xx

I think the card colours go well together - I can fully understand why you would need to buy the magazine, such a sweet die. Have a great weekend. x
This is an absolutely beautiful card Pat. I love the scene you've created and the colouring is fantastic. Good use of the Christmas trees too. A really lovely card. Barbxx
So beautifully created with the soft hues for skies and hills. The balloon colors are, I think, a perfect offset to the landscape. Lovely card. Thanks for sharing. Hugs, Kathy

Beautiful card, the scene is gorgeous, the balloon die cut is perfect with it. Take care xx
The balloon is perfect, Pat! And that landscape is amazing! What wonderful details you've created! It's a work of art!
Your clouds and hills look so splendid, great shapes and coloring, with the hills seeming to recede in the distance. The contrast of the dark blue against the lighter colors looks just perfect to my eyes. A good design composition and wonderful cool colors, just right for a masculine card. Well done! TFS & for the good wishes sent my way. Hugs
