Tropical Sunset

Hi there everyone.  This is a card made using a Crafty Individuals stamp called Tropical Sunset which I got fairly recently.  I found a piece in my stash created with Brushos a week or two ago and which I hadn't got around to using, and the colours seemed perfect to use as a background for this image.

I managed to place the image so that the setting sun came within the yellow area, and I stamped it using my Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink and cut it out using a Crealies Pierced Rectangle die.  I watercoloured the sun and the area below using Adirondack Sunshine Yellow ink and Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink and some Broken China Distress Ink for the darker parts of the sea applied using a waterbrush.   I then blended some Stormy Sky over the top portion of sky to darken it a bit and added some more Spiced Marmalade and Sunshine Yellow around the sun using a blending tool, and also inked around the edges to finish.

I backed the piece with another piece of card to raise it up a bit and added it to a 7" x 5" card and added the sentiment using the Nocturne ink and heat embossed it with WOW EmbossingPowder.

Thank you for visiting my blog today and I hope to see you again soon.

Note:  Before I go I wonder if anyone has had the same problem I have had with the new Blogger format.  I have done one or two posts successfully, but this one went wrong at the bottom where I put the list of challenges, and for some reason it would not let me single space them.  I tried for ages to fix it and thought I had when I followed a second challenge title on the same line as the last and pushed it forward until it all dropped down on to the next line, and did this each time until I had everything looking like it looks now, but when I checked on preview it was completely all over the place.  I didn't like the look of it double spaced and so I have gone back to the old Blogger.  I would love to know if anyone else has had this problem and if so if you managed to fix it.

What a relaxing place to be Pat, warmth, swaying branches and a cocktail to hand. We can but dream this year I'm afraid, maybe next year which is when we moved ours to. Many thanks for joining in our "Summer Fun' theme at Allsorts challenge.

As for your Blogger issue, seems to be new blogger is full of them, I moved over for a month and gave it my best shot trying to juggle several blogs with a less that helpful format but reverted back. I read on their help pages that all blogs are being moved over later this month and the old format being withdrawn, but surely they will fix the problems first.....or not? Reading their pages it's not for the want of people expressing their dislike of the new format.

You've used your piece of Brusho card to great effect with this stamp and the additional work you did with the inks. I've recently had similar Blogger problems with spacing - saw a tip which suggested to use shift and enter (return) when moving onto the next line which worked for me when typing the list of items used at the bottom. I've also had to edit pictures which are coming at huge size whereas they used to fit perfectly. I was getting double spacing just using enter - so annoying!

Your card is beautiful Pat and I think your Brusho background works perfectly.

As for the new blogger....I changed over a while ago and have just about got used to it but it does seem to have some odd little quirks. For example, If I try to type my title at any speed, everything just freezes, then I have to wait for it to catch up, which can take quite a while. What I do now is just type the first letter, then once this appears, I can then type at the speed that I normally would. Also, when I try to add my DT work to a list at SS, even though I put it under my name, it always jumps below the last name on the list, so I then have to cut and paste it every time. I just wish they would leave things alone, or at least test things thoroughly before they release a new version. I do, however, like how it asks to to confirm the date and time before publishing a post. I find that really helpful in case I've made a mistake and this should avoid any premeture posting on the news feed, which I have accidentaly done before on a couple of occasions. I think I'll stick to it for now but who knows. Wishing you a happy week Pat x

The double spacing thing with new Blogger is driving me mad! So am going to try Val's idea of using shift and enter and see if that works! x

What a perfect brusho background for the calm and fabulous beach scene Pat x. I tried the new blogger, for the first time, for my recent post and no problems so far. I have heard tons of bloggers saying about the double spacing problem. Let's hope they get the glitches sorted out soon x.

This is GORGEOUS Pat! I LOVE your brushos sky and the beautiful setting sun. What a lovely place this would be to visit! Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up!

I have had so man issues with Blogger that I reverted back to the Legacy version too. It seems that they are still working out kinks, but everytime they "fix" something, it impacts another part of the program in a negative way. I did have spacing that I didn't like and couldn't figure out how to change it. Loll xx

Gorgeous watercolored Sunset, Pat. I love your colors and the moon just beginning to set into the water:-) So realistic. I have stuck with the new Blogger version, but still have glitches, which always takes me longer to post, but I am quicker than when I 1st began...so I guess there is hope.

So pleased you joined us at CAS Mix Up Beach Challenge. Love and Hugs...Nancy

I absolutely love this Pat! I wouldn't have believed you hadn't made the background especially. A fabulous masculine card for Stamping Sensations! Thanks for joining us this month and good luck!
P.S. the double spacing is driving me mad too, although the issues it was having when uploading more than one photo seem to have been sorted. I do wish they would leave it for longer before they changed it

Before I forget, I really didn't like the new Blogger at first blush and didn't wait around to find out all its foibles. I went right back to the old one, which had (to my mind) nothing wrong with it. I've yet to hear of anyone who likes the new one. What I do like, for sure, is this stunning sunset card! It's an absolute winner in my book, Pat! That Brusho background could NOT have been better and I just love both the sunset image and those awesome palm trees! Thank you for sharing with everyone at NBUS! I hope you are both keeping well! Hugs, Darnell

A very beautiful scene. Love your background.

I dislike the new blogger, too. Mine did the double spacing and it also wanted to underline everything. Could not turn it off. I finally went back to to the original one and I hope the bugs get worked out before we are forced to use the new blogger.
