More Cards for June TV Shows

Hi there everyone.  Here are some more cards I made for last month's Chocolate Baroque Hochanda shows.  This was made with the Rose Set using the large stemmed rose and then one of the smaller Mackintosh inspired images on the background.

I decided to do a multi colour stamping technique using my Misti stamp positioner and using Distress Inks in Carved Pumpkin and Abandoned Coral on the flowers and Twisted Citron, Peeled Paint and Fossilized Amber on the leaves and stems.  I added one colour at a time starting with the lightest colour on the flowers, spritzed and then stamped and did this several times, then added the darker colour and spritzed and stamped, drying in between to build up the colour.  I then filled in any bits that hadn't caught the colour enough using my waterbrush.  This gives more of a washy random look which I think suits this stamp.  I die cut this with a stitched square die from The Works and matted it on to dark green card.

I then stamped the background using the Peeled Paint Distress Ink.  I worked out roughly how many times I could stamp the circular image along the edge of the square piece of card and stamped each corner before filling in the two images in between on each side.  It doesn't work exactly by eye but you just have to go for it and trust that the finished result will look OK, and luckily it did...lol.  I then blended some of the same ink around the edges using a blending tool and added it to the white base card.

My second card again features the large rose stamped using Blueprint Sketch Distress Ink.  I inked the stamp and lightly spritzed it before stamping it on to a piece of white card again to give a waterlook to it.  I then die cut using my Crealies Pierced die, and then layered this on to a piece of cobalt blue card, again die cut with the Crealies die, and then on to a piece of silver mirri card.  I added this to the white base card and added a sentiment embossed with WOW Silver Metallic Embossing Powder.

For my last card I used the square rose tile from the same Rose set and I decided to make a tile design.  I stamped eight tiles using Versafine Onyx Black ink and coloured the rose design with Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink blended on to each of the tiles before double embossing with WOW Clear Gloss Embossing Powder.  I then cut each of them out and mounted them on to a piece of white card.  I then cut a piece of white card a little larger and coloured round the edges with the same blue ink and adhered the tile layer to it.  I finished by adding a sentiment into the centre space which I left for that purpose again using the Versafine Onyx Black ink and heat embossed with the Clear Embossing Powder.  I then added this to the square white base card.

I am entering the following challenge with this card:

Pixie's Crafty Workshop - No. 357 Where we use our snippets of card and paper etc.

Thanks for looking at my blog today and I hope to see you again soon.

Isn't it amazing how you can change the look of a stamp just by changing the colour. Your first two card look so different and yet you've used the same stamp. Both of them are beautiful. I love your third card two and that sentiment really resonates with me. When I left a full time office job five years ago to look after my Granddaughter, then Grandson while my Daughter returned to work, I made an effort to walk to the local park most days. The park has such beautiful rose garden and after being stuck in an office for a few years, I really did take time to smell them and to enjoy the glory of the seasons. Beautiful work as always Pat x

Wow what stunning cards x.
I love how you did the background on the first card and what a beautifully water coloured rose. Such a classy and elegant second card and love the tonal effect. Such a striking third card and so very dramatic. Thank you for sharing these amazing cards, all three of them x.
