A Winter Deer

Hi there.  I have been rather slow to get going since Christmas but birthdays are beginning to pop up so had to try and get Mr. Mojo licked into shape ..lol.  This is for a male family member and I decided to use a Serendipity stamp I got about three months ago with the intention of using it for Christmas cards but didn't.  Luckily it is the sort of stamp that can be made any season you want it to be so I made it wintry with just a hint of show.

I used a snippet of kraft card for a different look and stamped using Archival ink which I then heat embossed using WOW Clear Embossing Powder.  I decided to use my Spectrum Noir pencils to add a bit of colour and I used a white SN pencil in conjunction with a white gel pen to add little bits of white for snow mainly on the tree trunk and branches and also on the hills behind which I added for a bit of background interest.  The colours of the hills are a little bluer in the photo than in real life as I wanted them to be a more dark bluey grey with snowy tops but the kraft card does affect the way the colours look, but am fairly happy with the result.

I used a snippet of copper mirri card to back the image and also die cut a sentiment from the same snippet, and then mounted it on an A6 base card.  I nearly always use square cards but I only have this shape of card in kraft and some extra sheets which are 8" x 8" so not big enough to make a folded 6" x 6" card.

Thanks for stopping by today.

A Gift from Teddy

Hi there.  I have been a bit slow getting going since Christmas and this is a card that has been sitting in my drafts, so while I contemplate starting this year's creativity I thought I would show you this.

I used a topper from Hunkydory and backed it with an embossed snowflake design using a freebie embossing folder which I have had for quite a long time, and then that has been layered on to a complementary snippet of card from Hunkydory.

The embossed layer was a freebie snowflake border which I repeated to cover the square snippet of white pearlised card, and after embossing inked, using first some Shaded Lilac Distress ink and then to darken some Adirondack Eggplant.  I finished it with a strip cut from the bottom of the purple card and then used one of the seasonal greetings from the topper sheet.

                                                                  oooOoooOoooOooo

I expect a lot of you know that Google are changing the way people access Blogger and some of the options are being removed.  As  I understand it if you follow via the blue button, Google Friends Connect but do not have a Google Account you will be dropped as a follower, and this in turn may affect commenting as some of the options shown under the comment box may disappear too.  I think it is quite straightforward to sign up to a Google account and as far as I know this does not mean you have to sign up to Google PLUS + which a lot of people are not happy to do.  I don't think this will affect me personally too much but thought it as well to mention this in case it causes any confusion as this is due to start happening from Monday 11th January onwards.
