Blue and Pink Anniversary

Hi to you all.  This is the first anniversary of the year and I am a little late with it.  My mojo is still a bit elusive but I am feeling better at present though don't know when the surgery will be but am hoping to know soon.  I seem to lack inspiration when it comes to anniversary cards, but after thinking for a bit I decided to use my Nellie Snellen Heart die and a freebie heart embossing folder and some blue and pink acrylic paint for a change.

I found a snippet of white card and using the blue paint I watered it down slightly and smooshed the heart through it, and as it was still quite thick it made quite a pretty pattern.  I then found some pink which has a glossy finish, and after the blue was dry smooshed that over the top.

I then found another snippet of white card and embossed using the hearts embossing folder.  I then added Adirondack Stonewashed Ink using a blending tool, and then using the pink paint I brushed some over a few of the hearts to tie it in with the die cut heart.

I cut a piece of dark blue card and mounted the embossed piece on to it.

I used a snippet of the blue card for the sentiment and in order to place the words in the right place on the strip I put the embossed background and the heart in the Misti and laid the strip where I wanted it to be, and then placed the two word stamps in the right position before removing the heart.  I then stamped the two words on to the strip using Versamark Ink and WOW Opaque Brilliant White Embossing Powder.  I finished by mounting the background on to a white card approximately 6" x 6" square, and then adhered the strip and finally the heart on top.

Thank you for visiting my blog today and I hope to see you again soon.

I am entering the following challenges:

Pixie's Crafty Workshop - Weeks 275/6 where we use up our snippets of card and paper etc.
Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes.
Muse Challenge - No. 210 ( I was inspired by the hearts embossing, the colour blue and the sentiment strip with the white embossing)

Oh my! This is gorgeous Pat! I love the colours and patterns in that smooshed heart! So pretty! And I love how you gently 'tease out' the texture of the embossing and it's all finished beautifully with the sentiment strip in a co-ordinating colour! Lovely! Have a great day! Luv n’ Hugs. Hazel xx

Lovely card Pat, perfect for an Anniversary! I think your mojo is there kiddo - never fear! But, with surgery hanging over you it can be hard to settle down to much. Just think, when it's done you'll be in charge of the new obstacle course we have planned for the Playground! Hang in there kiddo!

Hugs

Di xx

This is really pretty Pat. I don't think your mojo is missing at all. It probably is more that waiting for the surgery and being in pain is making you feel like it is. I hope you're able to have the surgery soon. Sending hugs. Loll xx
