Hi all. I decided to get going on the CAS Mix Up Card Challenge quicker, and instead of being late to the party I should be reasonably early this time..lol. The way the CAS Challenges work has been changed and the Mix Up,
Watercolour and Stencil Challenges have been amalgamated into one and
will rotate, so this month it is a Mixed Media theme which is embossed vellum plus stamping and at least one other mixed media technique. Mine has alcohol inked vellum on which I have stamped and heat embossed, and then die cut mats and dry embossed on the background layer.
I put the AIs on my glass mat and added some blending solution and covered a piece of pink Vellum. The colours were Watermelon, Butterscotch, Lemonade and Flamingo. When dry I inked the Chocolate Baroque A Heart Full Of Love stamp with Versamark and then heat embossed using WOW Opaque Bright White Embossing Powder. The embossing powder did take up a bit of the AI colour when I heated but I do quite like that. I die cut the vellum with a stitched square die.
I then moved on to the background and cut the square with a Tonic Scalloped Edge Die and then dry embossed with an XCut Hearts and Kisses Embossing Folder extending it to cover the square white background. I finished by putting it together and then stamped and again heat embossed with the Opaque Bright White EP on to a leftover piece of vellum cut into a fishtail banner shape and adhered it to the card.
Thank you for joining me here today and I hope you will visit again.
I am also entering the following challenges:
Penny Black and More June Challenge - Favourite Stamps.
Stamping Sensations June Challenge - Make it Colourful.
Uniko Challenge - No. 59 Anything Goes + optional twist Bright and Happy.

Gorgeous card Pat! I LOVE your mix of AI colours on the vellum. So beautiful with that gorgeous image white embossed. Love the framing with the dry embossing. So much wonderful texture to this card! Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up! xx
Do you know Pat I have never tied alcohol inks onto vellum but I do like the effects you have created and how it tones down around the edges - guess what I might do today?
The white embossed Baroque heart really does pop against those colours and the subtle embossed back panel compliments perfectly. Lovely as always to see you joining us, my thanks for sharing your lovely creation with us at Penny Black and More and Stamping Sensations challenges.

Hadn't thought of using alcohol inks on vellum but see it works well and the embossed heart stands out nicely. Great card for the challenge.
Hi there Pat, this is fabulous. I love mixed media and the inkiness of that alcohol vellum and the embossing look super! Many thanks for joining us at Penny Black and More for our favourite stamp theme this month xxxx
A fabulous card Pat - I love the rich colour and texture.

Me again Pat, playtime complete and really amazed that the vellum doesn't buckle. I added the AI's to a piece of acetate and dabbed into them, I guess much the same as you did. As I always say about crafting, it's a constant learning curve and there is always something new to discover.

I am working myself up to using AI on Vellum to make a background Pat.I enlarged your pic and I like the way the embossing powder has soaked up a little of the AI - it gives a lovely effect. Great card as always. And it's always good to see you in the gallery at CAS challenges with your creations! x
And maybe I should have checked before visiting (!!!) - so it's 2 comments from me today - the second to say thanks for sharing over at Stamping Sensations too! x
Beautiful card! I see you used vellum and alcohol inks, never thought of that! Love the embossing on the backpanel too, goes well with the scalloped card edges and heartshaped stamp.

Stunning card Pat, the heart stamp is beautiful and looks great embossed in white. The embossed background is lovely too, super embossing folder. I've never thought to use alcohol inks on vellum, thanks for the inspiration. xx
The alcohol ink colored the vellum beautifully, Pat! The way the embossing picked up a bit of color makes for even more interest! A lovely card! Thanks so much for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up!
I must try using alcohol inks on vellum. You really have me inspired, Pat. Love the heat embossed stamped heart on vellum too. Your colors are so pretty. Beautiful dry embossed and scalloped framing too. Your design would make a gorgeous Wedding card too. TFS and joining us at CAS Mix Up. Stay safe and Creative, my friend. Hugs..Nancy
Wonderful design Pat, love the AI background and the shaped edge to your card with all the different embossing. Thanks for joining us this month at CAS Mix Up!
beautiful mix of colours on your Vellum Pat, and the embossing is perfect picking up a touch of the colour from the AI.
This is such a gorgeous card Pat. The white embossing looks really quite dramatic against your inky background. Thank you for joining us in our 'Make It Colourful ' challenge at Stamping Sensations and good luck. Sandra x

What a fabulous idea to use alcohol inks on the vellum and I love the way the heat embossed heart slightly took up some of the colour. A really romantic card, full of texture and I love it! x.
Beautiful card. Nice idea to do it on vellum
