Birthday Roses

Hi everybody.  This is another experiment at making my own handpainted watercolour card.  I tried something different using a wet in wet technique but I don't think it worked as well as my last card and looks a little dark and muddy.  I ended up with a rather splodgy background so did go over it a bit to get better leaf shapes, and consequently it doesn't look as fresh as the last one.  A definite learning curve.

I added a sentiment using Versafine Olympia Green and heat embossed it with WOW Clear Gloss Embossing Powder and ink blended around the edges with Adirondack Sunshine Yellow Ink.

Thank you for visiting my blog today and I'll see you again soon.

Watercoloring is difficult, especially when you use the wet in wet technique! I am amazed that you managed to get this beautiful result, even if it is somewhat "hazy". You could also see it as dreamy! The flowers are beautiful!

Oooh lovely, I like the softness of this one. I have five or six experiments lying round here at the moment and I'm wondering which will get turned into something and which will be recycled. Practice makes progress.

I actually love the effect you achieved Pat! You can really see that they are roses... don't be hard on yourself...In my book there are never mistakes in art.
