Hi everyone. I was inspired to create this card as I had these stamps in my stash which hadn't yet been inked, there are others too I might add, and with a new challenge in mind called Colour Hues Challenge asking for yellow and green, this is what I came up with. The large Honey Bee and the Water Drops are by both by Art Journey and I also used a Tim Holtz Honeycomb stencil which isn't so easy to find at the moment.
I started with the background, something I have seen Eileen Godwin do, she has an Instagram account and is also on Facebook where she has been doing quite a few video demos, and you can find her on You Tube too, well worth a visit. It is just a series of lines which I have done in Adirondack Sunshine Yellow, and Mowed Lawn Distress Ink. You just do them criss crossing one another and moving the ink out from the lines a bit to fill a background. I kept mine quite light as I didn't want to detract from the stamping to come. I then added the stencil monoprinting, inking part of the TH stencil by rubbing the Sunshine yellow pad over it, spritzed a little and then laid it down on to my piece of card. It looks quite strong colour but I only did it over the centre of the card. I then added the water drops stamping with Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink twice, again in the centre of the card. At this stage I die cut the piece with a stitched square die and stamped the sentiment using the Nocturne Ink heat embossed with the Clear Gloss EP.
I moved on to the bee using the Nocturne Ink I stamped it on to a piece of white card and then heat embossed it using WOW Clear Gloss Embossing Powder and then ink blended the yellow over the abdomen of the bee and I then fussy cut it out.
I finished by adding the background to a 6" square card and placed the bee over the top using Pinflair Glue Gel for dimension.
Thank you for visiting me here today and I hope to see you again soon.
I am also entering the following challenges:
AAA Birthday Challenge - No. 17 Animals and Critters.
NBUS Challenge - No. 18 (Never Before Used Schtuff) Both of the stamps are unused.

I so enjoyed reading your process on your card Pat. I have not seen the technique with the lines but I really love it. Thanks for the tip! Your water droplets and bee to follow couldn't have worked out any better. I can tell a lot of thought went into this card! Thanks for joining us over at Color Hues for our first challenge.
That’s really beautiful Pat and I love the detail in your background too. I also love the water droplets behind the bee. It’s beautifully CAS and yet complex at the same time. I think it’s fabulous x
Fabulous card, Pat. I LOVE the background you've created for your lovely bee. The water droplets are beautiful. I have some similar to these which have never been inked up. Thanks for the inspiration to use them!
Wow! I love this card Pat, I've seen Eileen's demo with the lines technique and I love how you've used it in your background. The honeycomb and water droplets are perfect for the thirsty bee! Your fussycutting is fab too with the tiny legs and antennae. My hubby keeps bees and I showed him your card, yep he loved it so I hope you don't mind if I try and CASE it one day, Cathy x
This very beautiful Pat! I love the bee and the background:)
I love Eileen's videos she's so creative. Great take on her geometrical blending and the addition of your bee:)
A great background created here, brilliant place for the bee to settle. Love it
How very lovely Pat, the background sounds detailed and time consuming but looks so effective without being overpowering. And then the rain droplets and focal Honey Bee draw the eye right in.
It's lovely to see you joining in with our first challenge at We Love Chocolate Baroque, many thanks and good luck.
