Seasonal Baubles

Hi everybody.  I have a Christmas card made with a cut and emboss folder which came free with Papercraft Essentials Magazine No. 192, not normally one that I buy but hubby bought it for me when he had been shopping as a surprise as it was my birthday and we were in lockdown.  It has been sitting in a box in which I keep those things which are waiting to be used and it has been waiting for a long time, so thought now was the time to make a card with it.

I embossed it on to a piece of white card and decided to colour the two outer baubles with my Sakura Stardust Pens just very carefully going over the raised parts which worked well using a blue, gold and silver pen and then found a piece of pretty gold embossed vellum with poinsettia images on and cut a piece just a bit bigger than the the white bauble which was the cut part of folder.  I placed this over the underside of the aperture and stuck it around the edges, and after colouring the top of the bauble piece gold placed the cut out piece back in the hole behind the vellum and stuck it in place with a couple of pieces of double sided tape to stop it from moving (I left the top covering of the tape in place).  I then cut down the piece a bit and used the gold pen round the edges before sticking it to the 6" square card.  I finished it with a silver mirri die cut sentiment backed with Stick It adhesive.  There is lots of shimmer from the pens which doesn't show up much in the photo but in real life it twinkles very prettily.

Thank you for coming to visit my blog today and I hope to see you again soon.

A beautiful card Pat. I've made about forty Christmas cards this year, so I'm feeling good that I've got ahead them x

I recognize the part about things waiting to be used, those things sometimes have to wait a long time! This folder is very pretty and you made a card with it which is lovely! The colours are beautiful and elegant. I also like the vellum behind the cut-out! Have a lovely weekend, in Holland the weather is so nice!

Hi Pat,
Happy Rudolf Days.
Your card is so lovely and the cut and emboss folder used is fabulous especially when it was a freebie with a magazine.
I love how you have coloured it and used that wonderful poinsettia paper in the centre bauble.
The gold makes it look so luxurious also.
Thank you for joining the Rudolf Challenge.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L. DT

Your card is so pretty Pat! LOVE the gorgeous embossed ornaments and the one that is cut out so you could add the pretty poinsettia. I have not seen a mix of cut and emboss before ... must be unique to the UK. And how sweet your hubby bought this magazine for you! xx

What a lovely birthday surprise, Pat. You've made such a pretty card. Kudos to you with the Stardusts, very carefully is an understatement but your execution was flawless. It's funny, I've used the "clear" one for years, kinda silver kinda gold? It's an indispensable supply for me. But I just last month finally a color variety set of them and seeing your work I really like the softness of them. But I don't think I ever knew they came in any other flavors! lol xoxo

What a pretty card, Pat and I love how you framed it with the gold pen - it really looks as if it is matted onto gold card but this way it will be easier and more economical to post. Perfect for our embossing and glitter challenge this time.
Thanks for sharing with us at ABC Christmas Challenges and I hope you will join us again soon.
Hugs
Carol x
PS Your hubby sounds like a keeper!
