Hi everybody. Another Christmas card on kraft card using a mandala and also a pheasant from a set of freebies by Sheena Douglass which came as an extra set of stamps with a magazine quite a while ago, so I am assuming that these were ones which were left over from sales of the original older magazine, so they decided to put them in with another, so a very good deal indeed as these are lovely with three large mandalas and three bird images and also some sentiments and a little flower die too. This is a more seasonal looking one with holly and berries, and this and the pheasant haven't been used before.
I decided to stamp and emboss the mandala with WOW Opaque Bright White, and at first did think I would leave it like that but then I thought perhaps it looked a bit plain so I added some colour using my set of Lyra Graduate Pencils. I then used a piece of the leftover kraft to stamp the pheasant using Versafine Vintage Sepia Ink, and also coloured it with the pencils, fussy cut it out and also used some Pinflair Glue Gel when fixing it on the card, to give it extra dimension. The males are so beautifully coloured and where I live here in Somerset we see and hear them a lot. They are completely oblivious to everything around them and appear from nowhere sauntering across the road as though they have all the time in the world, and if you hoot to speed them up they usually stop dead and instead of hurrying towards the nearest hedge they then decide to head back in the opposite direction..lol. I decided to add the sentiment using Versafine Satin Red Ink and heat embossed it with WOW Clear Gloss EP, and added a coordinating red mat before placing it on a 6" square white card.
Thank you for taking a look at my blog today and I'll see you again soon.

That's a really pretty Mandela Pat and the Pheasant looks just like those strutting their stuff around the paddocks this last week or two, seems to be an abundance of them this season.
Many thanks for joining us at Allsorts challenge anf following the embossing optional theme.

Super Christmas card, Pat. Adding the colour to the whiter mandala looks beautiful. Thank you for joining in the Allsorts Challenge this week using the embossing option.

This is such an effective design. I also like the jaunty angle of your sentiment. Thanks for sharing with us at Allsorts challenge and using the optional theme.

Very creative and pretty card, we haven't seen any real pheasants around here in years, kind of sad!

This is gorgeous, I love the wreath and the wonderful Pheasant, such pretty birds, we don't have them around here, so love seeing them when we visit some countryside that have them.

Hi I just love this card, Such a lovely Example of CAS. Your embossing of the mandala is awesome and I plan to CAS your card...I will link you to my blog when I do. Not sure how I found you, you know how it is we click on a card and that leads us to another one...down that road. Thanks for sharing this. Smiles, Kathy
This is beautiful, Pat! Your coloring is just right! I enjoyed reading about how prevalent pheasants are in your area. Here we have wild turkeys that keep drivers on their toes! Thank you for inspiring everyone at NBUS! Hugs, Darnell
That combination works so well. Thank you for sharing this gorgeous card with us at Allsorts. Sarah
Very pretty design! Thank you for sharing with us at POE Christmas Challenge.
I always think bright white on kraft is so lovely! This is a very pretty design. Thank you so much for joining the challenge at Allsorts and using the embossing theme option.
The white mandala is beautiful Pat, and the little touches of colour really bring it to life. It's particularly nice against the kraft background. You did a wonderful job colouring the pheasant in all his finery. It was a good idea to fussy cut and pop him up too, adds some great dimension.
Cheers,
Beccy
The mandala makes for such a pretty frame for your pheasant especially with it on Kraft ♥
That must be a nice present of stamps indeed, the mandala and the pheasant are both very pretty and go together well! The kraft background is a good idea, it makes the pretty mandala more bright and stand out. Where we live on the outskirts of the town of Zoetermeer we see them often too. Also on the golf terrain where I play during the not rainy months :). The males are definitely the prettiest, as seems common in the animal kingdom. Have a nice weekend, Pat!
The mandala pops against the kraft card base, Pat! So pretty! And what an amazing pheasant! xx
Missed this one when it was posted - that's a great use of the extra dies and so on which came with your magazine. Nice to have an extra gift. Pheasants do appear to have a death wish on the roads don't they.
Great card - works so well on the kraft background.
Thanks for joining us at The Merry Little Christmas Challenge.
