Rainbow Stripes

Hi there.  I sometimes find it difficult to think of something different for an anniversary card, but after watching this post with video by Jennifer McGuire and using the latest Freshly Made Sketches layout I came up with this card.

I cut different width strips using snippets of coloured card I found in my bits box and used a snippet of white card covered with the Stick It adhesive which made sticking them down much easier.  I then backed this with a piece of dark blue card and added it to a roughly six by four card.  I always use 8" square white base cards and cut them down to suit.

I added this strip to the centre of the card and using a freebie stamp I cut the hearts from snippets of red card and added them as per the sketch.  I finish by added the sentiment which I stamped using Versafine Majestic Blue Ink and was a tad over inked because the pad is new and rather juicy.  I finished with a few light blue sequins as I thought it needed a little extra something.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope to see you again soon.

I am entering the following challenges:

Less is More - No. 325 Stripe.

Beautifully vibrant stripy card Pat. The rainbow colours really have an impact and the design you chose really work well for that technique. I hadn't seen this video so was really interested to see how Jennifer did her cards as I made one 3 weeks ago in muted colours for my dt cards. Thanks so much for sharing the link - I didn't think of using a paper shredder! Anyway, thanks so much for sharing this with us at Less is More xx

Brilliant card, Pat. At first glance, I thought you'd used a piece of striped patterned paper. What a great way of using up your snippets! xx
