More Autumn Themed Cards

Hi everyone.  Here are the last of the cards I made for last month's Chocolate Baroque TV shows.  This first card was made using the Chinese Lantern type flower from the Autumn Poppy set of stamps, using the different leaves in the background.

I started by stamping the flower stem using Versafine Onyx Black Ink and coloured using Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves, Cracked Pistachio and Peeled Paint Distress Inks applied with a waterbrush.  I then fussy cut it out.

I decided I would have an aperture on the background filled with an alcohol inked background and used a mixture of Pool, Watermelon and Clover and some blending solution.  When the colours mixed obviously there is red and blue and the resulting purple, but I'm not sure what happened to the Clover, but it is in there somewhere..lol.  I then colour blended the background aperture layer using Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and stamped the four different sets of leaves over the top.  You may see some very faint lines in the background because I did think I would make a watermark effect using the leaves but when I blended the colour over the top they didn't show up enough so I then stamped again with the blue ink which I thought looked much better but still soft enough to stay in the background.  Luckily I did use a stamp positioner leaving the stamps in place until I was sure all was OK.

I finished by adhering the alcohol ink piece to the back of the aperture and then added this to the white base card.  I then added the flowers over the top and to one side and stamped one of the sentiments from the Fungi and Flowers Collage set on to a die cut stitched oval tag, again using the Onyx Black Ink, and added a little blue ink around the edges before fixing it to the card covering the base of the flower stem.

I am entering this card into the following challenge:

Pixie's Crafty Workshop - No. 355 where we use up our snippets of card and paper etc.  (I used up snippets of white card, and the Yupo was a small leftover piece too).

My second card features one of the new stamp sets called Toadstool Garden.  I stamped it using Versafine Onyx Black and heat embossed with WOW Clear Gloss Embossing Powder.  I then coloured just the fungi and flowers using two red Distress Inks - Candied Apple and Fired Brick, applied with a waterbrush and when dry I added some Wink of Stella over the top.  I then added a sentiment from the set and layered on to red and black card before adding it to the white base card.

My last card was made with the Autumn Poppy set using the three different fungi images.   I used Peeled Paint, Fossilized Amber and Spiced Marmalade Distress inks laid down on my glass mat and spritzed before laying the card into it to pick the ink up, and I did this several times to build up the colour, drying in between.  I then stamped the fungi using Versafine Vintage Sepia Ink and I masked the tall slim group and stamped again.  I bleached out the colour using my waterbrush, and then coloured them using more of the Fossilized Amber and added Candied Apple, Brushed Corduroy, Ground Espresso and Abandoned Coral in varying degrees.  I finished by cutting the piece down a bit and then added a sentiment from the Fungi and Flowers Collage again using the Versafine Vintage Sepia Ink, and then added it to the white base card.

I am entering this card into the following challenge:

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes.

Thank you for dropping by today and I'll see you again soon.

Beautiful cards Pat - I adore your snippets card. Love Chinese Lanterns and your colouring with the Yupo background is fabulous. Love the fact you also used an aperture for the front of the card - very elegant.

WOW! Fab selection today, Pat. Loving the alcohol background on the first and your almost zentangled appearance of the second ... not mushroom to dislike about the third either. Top job on them all and so different too

Happy Saturday

These cards are absolutely beautiful Pat and I'd be torn to choose a favourite. The background on your first one is fabulous and the image that you've coloured and fussy cut out finishes it off perfectly. On your second card, I like how you've only coloured certain elements, it looks really effective. Finally, I adore the way that you've coloured this card, it's perfectly Autumnal and I love it! Wishing you a happy weekend x
